The location of the hotel. It is close to the city centre and public trasportations.
The bathroom was very small and no shampoo provided.

it has a good location, near the Termini station, close to Reppublica square and the Via Nazionale. quite nice area, not so dirty as one on the other side of the Termini.
it was very loud there. we had a room facing the yard, and all night long and early in the morning there were some seagulls crying, or warehouse charging and discharging, or some locals talking or even swearing loudly. we didin't like that.

The hotel is 5 minutes away from central station "Termini" so the location is very good. The room is nice and the bathroom is clean(something very important to me).
The reception of the hotel is on the 4th floor and the room was on the 5th floor, but theres only one elevator for the entire building (more than one hotel) and you have to wait a long time for the elevator, that upsets me, specially after a lng day walking trough the city, My tv wasn´t working, and I asked in the reception several times to fix it, but they never did......and I spent 4 nights there:(

Nice friendly helpful staff, in particular Nicolas on the reception. The included buffet breakfast was good.

Not so far from Termini. You get what you pay for. The staff was very friendly and made time to chat with their guests. There was a mini fridge in the room.(but when it's 40°C outside you hardly get your drinks very cold :)). There was a bar, where you could get cold drinks at a normal rate. Shops and restaurants in the area.
Please ask if there is airco during the summer. Our room only had a small fan. Breakfast (drinks: served food: bread, pastry) it wasn't the best we ate in Italy.

The hotel is a 2 star: quite basic, but adequate. If you want better, expect to pay a lot more in Rome! If you travel during hot summer months, make sure you get a room with a/C. Our "a/c" consisted of a fan that we put in the window (which was adequate because nights cool off enough in September), but other rooms do have working air conditioners. Staff is quite helpful for the most part and speaks decent English. The bedroom was acceptable, the bathroom very small: just enough for one person. Shower is tiny, but it's a shower. Bring your own toiletries, incl soap & shampoo! There is roof garden that guests can use: very enjoyable. The breakfast is basic, but the coffee quite good (espresso, cappuccino). Italians are not big on breakfast. The baguette style bread was fresh every morning, as were the pastries. The elevator is small but does go up to the 6th floor. The stairs are faster! To get to the hotel from the airport, you can take the train to Termini station and walk from there (about 15 minutes), or take a bus which stops a half block away. You can also take a commercial van shuttle service that will drop you off at the hotel for about the same money as the train (or less when in a group). The van service is quite an experience: take your anti- anxiety medication beforehand because these drivers are crazy! When you use public transport (wherever you go), make sure you study the direction that you need to go in, or you may end up where you don't want to be. Print the public transportation map (on the hotel's site). Multi- day passes are cheap and convenient for buses and metro lines.
Hotel needs to improve maintenance (E.G., plumbing) and re-paint bathrooms. Mold on the bathroom wall is not very inviting.

The staff are very helpful and friendly. The single room and the ensuite shower room and toilet were spacious but I have to say that the bed was as hard as a rock and my back suffered. I would have changed to a double room if they had had room. Alas they did not. But the location is excellent. It is much nice than some of the areas around the Termini location which can be a little seedy. It has great connections into the centre of the city and the old city. Loads of buses within a few minutes walk. Several restaurants. I recommend the Andrea for budget meals and the Grappo d'Oro across the road if you want to splash out. Some of the rooms overlook the British Embassy's garden, which is a valuable asset in Rome.
Just as I said, the bed in the single room was as hard as a rock.
